Through the joint effort of management and employees, Network Maintenance in the Red Deer area recently conducted field trials using Fresh Cab. Its manufacturer reportedly claims Fresh Cab has a scent that is offensive for small pests such as rodents and flies and it helps to keep them away. In the field trials the product was placed in various different locations to asses its effectiveness, and was met with varying degrees of success.

We found that Fresh Cab had a relatively short life when used in open areas with heavy infestations, the average time was 10 days. When used in small enclosed areas with heavy infestation, Fresh Cab lasted over 60 days keeping mice away. Network Maintenance concluded it could be an effective temporary relief. It can be used in situations where, after a qualified person has conducted a hanta virus clean up, and interim control is needed for short periods of time until openings used by rodents to gain entry to the facility can be permanently sealed.
